Las Vegas, NV., (August 9, 2018) – Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Henderson/Silverado Ranch is joining with United Way of Southern Nevada to make a difference in the lives of children by offering free preschool in Las Vegas to income qualified families.

In the United States, Nevada has one of the lowest levels of preschool enrollment. The goal of this new program is to enroll more children ages 3 to 4 years in full-day preschool programs. At this young age, children undergo enormous social, emotional, physical and intellectual changes. Every child should have the chance to develop successfully during this critical time of life. Quality preschool education is the answer.

The benefits to young children who attend preschool are well known. These include improvements in:

· Child health

· Reading and language skills

· Math abilities

· Social skills

· High school graduation rates

· Job prospects

· Earnings potential

The Kids ‘R’ Kids/United Way partnership allows parents to access high-quality early childhood education for low or no cost. Parents may also explore preschool scholarships.

Michael Thompson, Ph. D., Director – Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy: “It is an honor for Kids ‘R’ Kids to be chosen by the United Way to continue our goal of preparing young children for educational success in the future.”

Kids ‘R’ Kids and United Way is joining with other community partners, such as service providers, nonprofits, and businesses, to offer even more resources. With these additional resources, more can be done to change the lives of children and their families.

Preschool providers, parents, and families are also involved so that children enter school better prepared. This investment in family support and foundational education reaps great rewards for future success.

We know that together we can change the lives of young children and change the world in the process.
