August 24, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

Acts 1:8 Ministry announces a $500 scholarship opportunity to any high school student who will be graduating in this calendar year and has been accepted to a college, trade school, or design school. Students who are currently enrolled in either a college, trade school or design school are also invited to apply for this scholarship. All applicants must believe in the mission of spreading kindness in their communities.

As Acts 1:8 Ministry states, “We believe in empowering young individuals to spread kindness throughout their community and acknowledge that higher education can play a pivotal role in helping shape their foundation and dedication to community service.”

Acts 1:8 Ministry is a Christian organization whose mission is to spread kindness throughout the world by evangelizing and performing good works. Their relationship statement states, “Do unto to others as you would have done unto you.” (Luke 6:31). They demonstrate this commitment to spreading kindness globally by working on projects such as drilling water wells and building towers to provide clean water to hundreds of thousands of African citizens. They are also active in the United States and give help to any Christian organization who is looking for ways to reach out with kindness to humanity.

To apply for this scholarship, all applicants should complete the form located on the Acts 1:8 Ministry scholarship website.

As part of the scholarship process all applicants will be asked to write a 500-word essay on the following question, “How have you helped spread kindness in your community and how has it made you think differently about yourself, others, and the world around us?”. The deadline for scholarship application submissions is October 31, 2019. The Acts 1:8 Ministry Scholarship Committee will then review all of the scholarship applications and select a winner during November 2019.

LONDON — More than 600,000 vacationers who booked through tour operator Thomas Cook were on edge Sunday, wondering if they will be able to get home, as one of the world's oldest and biggest travel companies teetered on the edge of collapse. Auto union strike is latest worry in Flint, GM's birthplace

Sep 23, 2019

FLINT, Mich. — The birthplace of General Motors has been on an economic roller-coaster ride for more than a century as the automaker rose, crashed and retooled for changing markets. Now, the city of Flint is again steeling for economic impact amid a nationwide United Auto Workers' strike against the automaker. Workers seeking job security and a bigger share of GM's profits have been surrounding the company's massive complex in Flint for days, marching and toting signs and U.S. flags at entrances. "Vehicle City" — and many of the workers — have been here before. James Schneider, who operates a...

House votes to end forced arbitration in business disputes

Sep 23, 2019

WASHINGTON — The House approved a bill Friday to end forced arbitration clauses that prevent workers and consumers from filing lawsuits in disputes with companies over employment practices, billing or civil rights. Supporters, mostly Democrats, said the bill would restore access to justice for millions of Americans who are now locked out of the court system and forced to settle disputes against companies in a private arbitration system that often favors the company over the individual. Opponents, mostly Republicans, said the measure would make it harder for individual workers or consumers by forcing them into lengthy, expensive court fights that...
